This piece is perhaps my favorite resin art creation: an intricate moon tray that features the moon's phases while celebrating the profound journey of human metamorphosis. At the heart of this piece, "Celestial Metamorphosis," lies a delicate silver butterfly, symbolizing the beautiful process of transformation experienced by both the moon and ourselves.

In crafting this artwork, I delicately positioned the butterfly as the centerpiece, its intricate wings gracefully unfolding amidst the 12 phases of the moon and the surrounding astrological signs. This intentional choice serves as a reminder of the shared metamorphic journey we undertake as humans, evolving and blossoming just as the moon cycles through its own phases.

I layered many different resin pours with different paints, mica powders and various glitters (including glow-in-the-dark glitter shaped like stars) with blacklight-activated mica powders that glow-in-the-dark. I wanted the surface of the tray to show depth in the many layers, which I achieved by alternating clear resin into the project with all of the colors. My overall goal was to mirror the look and feel of the cosmos. When illuminated, the tray reveals a symphony of colors, casting a glow that further accentuates the symbolism. In the darkness, the tray continues to emit a gentle luminosity, reminding us of the ever-present potential for growth and transformation.
