Lotus Luminescence
CLAY SCULPTURE
As an artist, I have always been deeply inspired by the symbolic power of the lotus flower. With this project, "Lotus Luminescence," I embarked on a transformative art project that delves into the realms of healing, spirituality, and creation. In collaboration with a dear friend, who is an artist in her own right, we set out to sculpt a lotus flower candle holder using clay as our medium.

The lotus, with its captivating beauty and profound symbolism, serves as the theme of this project. We aimed to capture its essence and magnify its spiritual significance, showcasing it as a beacon of light and healing. In both Buddhism and Hinduism, the lotus symbolizes purity, enlightenment, and the journey towards self-realization. Its ability to emerge unblemished from the muddy depths of water resonates deeply with the human experience of transcending adversity and finding inner harmony.

By creating a small candle holder in the center of our lotus, we sought to manifest the metaphorical concept of inner light. A candle can be carefully nestled within the petals of the lotus. As the candle burns, its radiant glow signifies the transformative power of healing. It serves as a reminder that through the process of self-discovery and creative expression, we can ignite the inner light that shines from within.

The collaborative aspect of this project was not only therapeutic but also empowering. Working alongside my dear friend, Paige, I embarked on a journey of shared creativity. Together, we navigated the intricacies of sculpting as a team, discovering newfound skills and inspiring each other throughout the process. Through this collaboration, we not only forged a deeper bond but also experienced the empowering nature of artistic expression in healing and self-discovery.
